 Northern Green Gathering Ltd is a small volunteer-run environmental/educational gathering.
We organise a 4-day camping event with environmental workshops & campaigns, permaculture, organic veggie cafes, stalls, healers & alternative therapies, kids space, theatre & circus workshops, and a showcase of environment living in action, including solar power and wind power (eg a solar powered cinema). There are also plenty of other random things going on! We promote sustainable living and co-operative working.
We began in 1998, and held an event every year until 2003. We took a couple of years off before putting on a small event in 2006 and 2007. Now we are planning 2008's camp and are
looking for volunteers to get involved. This might mean coming to
meetings (held in Leeds) to plan the event, taking on a co-ordinating
role for a particular area (eg supplies, logistics, booking caterers,
organising crew, publicity, bookings, health and safety) being involved
before, during and after the event (tickets, stewards, security,
recycling, drivers, electricans, joiners, plumbers, general site
maintainence etc). Roles lists & descriptions are available - see the link on the left.
If you have a skill or some knowledge you'd
like to share or gain, we'd love to hear from you. Previous
organisers will be on hand to help out, and we promise to be an
unusual work placement or dissertation subject!!
