General
Northern Green Gathering is an annual 4 day camping event focused around sustainable living and green campaigns. The event has been running since 1998, with a couple of years off from 2003-2005.
The camp is powered entirely by sustainable means - wind turbines and solar panels - and we try to ensure minimal impact in all that we do. So we recycle everything that we can, and on-site catering is organic as far as possible.
Our site for 2008 is strictly no dogs due to the sensitive ecology of the site, and it's conservation status. No exceptions will be made to this policy.
People are encouraged to travel to the camp by public transport, or to car share if the bus or train isn't possible. If you want to car share there are several car sharing websites where you can arrange lifts - click here for a list of car sharing websites. We are providing a bus service from local bus & train stations to the site.
Northern Green Gathering is run entirely by volunteers. We are always happy to welcome new people to the team.
What's on?
Daytimes at the Gathering are full of opportunities to learn, meet friends, and relax. There are cafes, craft workshops, campaign stalls, Fair Trade shops, a Children's Area, performing arts workshops, a sauna, showers, Healing area, a Permaculture Area and space to just chill.
In the evenings there is live music, storytelling, a bar, and a late night chillout space.
Children
We have lots of children's activities, but we do not operate a creche. Parents are responsible for their children at all times.
Power
No generators will be allowed on site and electrical power will be provided from renewable sources.
Dogs
Please do not bring your dogs. Dogs will not be allowed on site - there will be no exceptions to this policy (except Guide Dogs). Lime Tree Farm is a Nature Conservation area.
Live in Vehicles
Unless your home is part of your workshop/ service you will be expected to park up in the live in vehicle area.
Cancellation
In the unlikely event of cancellation N.G.G. Ltd holds no liability for costs/ expenses.
Collective Responsibility
We’d like to encourage everyone on site to feel a sense of collective responsibility, ensuring this year’s event remains focused on greenness and so that people are taking control of their lives and are respectful to others and the earth – it’s a big part of what NGG aims to achieve. By attending the event, you agree to these principles.
